BARGE-CHESTNUT NEIGHBORHOOD GARDEN WALK 2025

You almost can’t find a better way to relate to human beings than through their
gardens. And there’s no better way to improve your own garden than to check
out someone else’s and borrow some of their ideas.
This year marks the sixth annual Barge-Chestnut Neighborhood Garden Walk.
Plans are underway for this summer’s walk. It will be self-guided and free to the
public.
Do you have a garden you would like to share for a few hours on a summer
afternoon? It could be a small front yard garden, a vegetable patch out behind
the garage, or some planters on the front porch that you’re particularly proud of.
Do you have a chicken coop or a bee hive? Is your garden a work in progress?
We want to see what you’ve created.
Everyone in our neighborhood is invited to participate. A Garden Walk is all
about community and not about competition. Our dream is that a love of
gardening will spread up and down every Yakima block like a seed on the wind.
